Since the Glock 34 9 mm is most popular pistol on the competition circuit it should be high up on the list. The S&W MP was wrongfully missing from the list too.

    I prefer my Walther PPS. It’s a 40,

if its going to be a list is it home defence or carry.I say 92fs for hd and glock 19 for carry. Its not my job to tell a newbie why.

  • CorporalUSMC

No Browning Hi-Power and Glock is ninth on the list? This list is all wrong and the author clearly doesn’t know his 9mm’s.

  • Carl

Man, I wanna cry out loud, in the country where I live, one Glock 17 older model costs up to 2.100 usd.!!! :(

    • Fernando

Lucky for you; in my f**king country, getting an “average” 9mm, like a Jericho 941 or a Czeska 75B or even a glock, is a complete b*tch, the psychological and other tests are incredibly hard and following the price tag of the pistols is further than 7.000USD; the price of a sport and professional use pistol like a custom made Strayer Voight Infinity pistol in american ground.

In small words, getting a gun over here is completely and stupidly hard also really expensive. Thinking of owning a professional built gun like the Cz 75 Czechmate or a Strayer Voight custom built pistol in my country, can be called ”science fiction”

  • Machine-Gun Joe

    This is my opinion: #1-H&K #2-Sig-226/229 #3-FNH-FNP That’s all !!!

  • Johnny Nightrider

I hear that the new pistol issued to recruits that are Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputies is the Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm.Personally I like the M&P .45 acp .As for as 9mm’s I like the Glock 19 with 15 round magazines and the Storm Lake SS barrel and USA Sprinco recoil reduction system which is a ss recoil rod with a spring built in and a heavy duty recoil spring around the recoil rod. Also the H&K should of been on the list and the FNH also the SIg Sauer 226.

  • Throw it

Not a single Sig or H&K or FNH made the list?? Strange…

I like Glock being up there, but personally would have chosen the G19 and it would have been much higher on the list.

  • Jesus Christ

A Taurus and a Tangfolio/EAA are better reviewed and of higher quality than a Glock and a Walther………….what color is the sky in your world?

    • Mike

No, Browning Hi-Power either. Sig P226, Sig P210, HK p7, Kimber 9mm, Steyr GB, or Walther P38.This is what happens when you give an adolescent a Netflix account.

  • Just Looking

Dude, Baby Eagles are made in Israel.

    • Dude

Dude, it just said THEY ARE MADE IN THE UNITED STATES. “The list is reaching its climax and as on the fourth place we have the ever reliable and unmatchable engineering of the US , Baby Eagle II is an excellent hand gun with amazing fire power.”

  • Satfieild & McCords

Rare I agree with most the comments, but I do. Despite the many guns out there, John is right about the S&W m&p’s. Take it from a 50 year shooter. I initially was skeptical with polymer guns, but my M&P 9 is the most accurate, reliable, durable gun I have
ever owned. It’s the new improved glock.

    • AlienAgenda

Well that’s not really saying a lot.

  • Jeff

    Thanks for the info bill.
Wish I could find a shadow. My local gun shop basically said good luck. Been on Buds waiting list for over a year.

    • Bill

      Hey Jeff,

They have some Shadows here at CZ USA

      http://czcustom.com/CZ-UB-USA-Factory-Pistols.aspx

Be sure to check out their custom versions too. I bought mine when the Shadow first came out and had to have the custom work done “ala-carte”, they now have a full line of custom guns set up and ready to go for competition.

P.S. I highly recommend the CZ Custom hammer as a minimum add on although the stock Shadow hammer is still better than a standard CZ 75, which by the way is an awesome gun, it’s just that the Shadow with the custom hammer takes it to a whole new level. If you’ve got the money the ACCU Shadow looks like the way to go, they didn’t those options when I got mine.

  • bill

Of note is the fact that there are two CZ’s in this list and two others are considered CZ clones in that they were designed off of the CZ 75 B platform (the Witness and Baby Eagle). Note that those four have their respective slides inside of the frame and all of the others have the slide on the outside of the frame. Also, the CZ SP01 shown is a Shadow variant which is a SP01 designed for use in USPSA, IDPA and other demanding shooting sports. The Shadow has no firing pin block and the frame is cut higher “swept hi-rise beavertail” placing the center of gravity even lower than the standard SP01 which translates to quicker follow-up shots.

    • Sajid

U have lot info about arms, U seems a cop

      • John

Not all cops are gun enthusiast. And learn how to type.

        • Sajid

          right sir

        • Craig

John – you have a type-o in your post too, and bad grammar. But you do seem to know about guns and that’s why I’m here making friends with you.
Do you have any opinion on CCW pistols? I have a 92FS and as a personal fit and feel Iike it so I start at the Nano. But the Sig 938 seems more Beretta than the Beretta which seems like a baby Glock. I want a safety, and buttons, I am not a quick-draw artist or gunfighter.
          Your new friend, Craig

  • Sallu

    I do not see sig226

  • curtis

I know that the Ruger SR9 is new to the scene but how does it rate to the rest of those?

    • Sam

I like mine better than a Glock!

  • John

The S&W M&P 9mm belongs in this lost. Some of the others do not.

    • chad

You are using price as a comparison to quality but in the end you do not include the sig sauer p226 into your top ten. The navy seals carry the sig p226 and many officals around the world also carry this side arm but in your list this is not a top 10. This list does have quality 9mm but “best 9mm” you need to do more work on the subject.

      • Henry

Agreed, absolutely. The list falls short without any SIGs. None of a P226 (e.g. the Mk 25 variant), M11-A1, P299 or SIG Pro 2022 would be out of place in a top 10. I would also add the H&K P30 and FN FNX. None of them cheap, but certainly better than many on this list.
